Experiencing the loss of a loved one can be exceptionally difficult, particularly around the Holidays. The tradition of the Dove Tree Ceremony began as a way to provide comfort to those experiencing this loss and ensure that those who have gone before us continue to be remembered, celebrated, and honored.
Each year, residents, staff, and families have the opportunity to partake in this tradition through the purchase of a dove ornament, personalized with the name of the loved one they wish to honor/remember. (Order forms will be mailed to families of residents toward the end of November each year. Information is also available below.)
These ornaments will be displayed on one of our beautifully decorated neighborhood Christmas trees throughout the Holiday season.
On December 13, all ornaments will be moved to the Chapel to be honored in our 25th annual Country Manor Dove Tree Ceremony. They will be prominently displayed and adorned by hundreds of floating lights in tribute to those they represent. After the ceremony, those who purchased doves will be able to take them home to enjoy on their own tree.
All proceeds from purchased dove ornaments at Country Manor will be used to fund special experiences and activities for Country Manor residents in need. The doves purchased at Woodcrest will support Spiritual Care.
This year's event will be on December 13, at 3:00 pm in the Country Manor Chapel, and December 14, at our Woodcrest Chapel. We invite family and community members to join us this year for our special event. The ceremony at Country Manor will be recorded for all to view online, as well as internally on our campus TV channel.
We hope you'll consider joining us in honoring/remembering those we've lost, and those we celebrate, while making a difference for others.
